Philosophy

Healthville – Blending Science with Nature

Nature Cure is a system of building the entire being in harmony with the constructive principle in Nature on the physical, mental, moral and spiritual planes of being. The constructive principle in Nature is that principle which builds up, improves and repairs, which always makes for the perfect type, whose activity in Nature is designated as evolutionary and constructive and which is opposed to the destructive principle in Nature.
The destructive principle in Nature is that principle which disintegrates and destroys existing forms and types and whose activity in Nature is designated as devolutionary and destructive. You are unique, just like everyone else is unique. Every habit and every medicine creates a different effect for everybody. So, your body is a ‘one-of-a-kind’ universe, and you can attain the supreme bliss of good health only if you know your body.
Our body is made of a distinctive blend of three types of energies which the Ayurveda describes as ‘Doshas’. How these energies interact with each other denotes your nature (Prakriti), health and well-being at large. They are ‘Vata’, ‘Pitta’, and ‘Kapha’. If you can understand the nature of your body, it becomes relatively easy to attain good health and maintain it.

Understanding the Causes of Diseases

Primary Causes

Secondary Causes

Principles Combined with Healthville’s Naturopathy Treatments

First, Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere)

Each patient is treated with the least invasive and least toxic methods possible by naturopathic practitioners.

The Regenerative Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae)

Each patient is treated with the least invasive and least toxic methods possible by naturopathic practitioners.

Determine and Treat the Root Causes (Tolle Causam)

Doctors of naturopathy identify, treat, and eliminate the underlying causes of disease.

Doctor as Instructor (Docere)

Naturopathic doctors have a vital role in educating and assisting patients with their own health management. They encourage patients to take charge of their own health. They also recognise the inherent therapeutic importance of the doctor-patient interaction.

Treat the Whole Person (Tolle Totum)

This notion acknowledges the body as an integrated totality. Naturopathic physicians treat the individual, not the illness. A naturopathic evaluation takes into account the individual’s nutritional state, lifestyle, family history, physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, and social aspects.

Prevention (Praevenic)

Naturopathic doctors advocate for an emphasis on whole health, wellbeing, and disease prevention.

Understanding the Three ‘Doshas’ – ‘Vata’, ‘Pitta’ & ‘Kapha’

As modern science explains, everything in the Universe is made up of matter and energy. This fact has been underscored by the Ayurveda too. Ayurveda suggests that our body is made of the five basic elements or ‘Panch Mahabhoota’, which are Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Ether. And our body sustains life by maintaining the crucial energy balance through the interaction these five elements. Hence, they are classified as the three ‘Doshas’.

VATA = Air + Ether

‘Vata’ principle is also known as the ‘Kind of the Doshas’. It represents the wind and space elements. The ‘Vata’ dosha is the driving force which dominates nerve impulses, blood circulation, respiration and elimination of wastes from the body. Moreover, it governs everything related to various movements in the body, viz., physical and psychological movements, including breathing, heartbeats, extension and contraction of muscles, etc.

PITTA = Fire + Water

‘Pitta’ principle is also known as ‘That which Digests’. ‘Pitta’ represents the amalgamation of fire and water elements. ‘Pitta’ is associated with the body’s metabolism, temperature, and psychology. It controls the body’s major functions like digestion and appetite, skin tone, sensory perception, thoughts and emotions. It predominantly controls the functions of the liver, digestive system, senses, and brain.

KAPHA = Water + Earth

‘Kapha’ principle binds the entire body systems together, and it is known as the ‘heaviest of all three ‘Doshas’. It represents a combination of earth and water elements. ‘Kapha’ controls and maintains the shape & structure, lubrication of the joints, growth of body tissues, and fertility. In addition, ‘Kapha’ exerts balance amongst the bodily fluids and regulates the body’s physical appearance.

These three ‘Doshas’ are integral to your health and well-being. If you can maintain their balance and harmony by implementing healthy habits and food, your body will experience eternal bliss called inner peace.
